Pivot Outlier Forecasting Analysis Template

Use the Pivot Chart and Slicer Outlier Forecasting Analysis Template and create interactve, accurate, web-based, and dynamic forecasts of your own data. Great for Data Analysis Toolpak users.

When you download this template, get your own data into the 'Summary Data' worksheet provided. Then, click the 'Create Pivot Outlier Chart Forecast!' button provided on the 'Chart' worksheet.

You may need to do the following before using this template:

- Enable or disable macros in Microsoft 365 files
- Unblock macros from downloaded files

The template will ask a series of questions that allow to you to specity what your pivot table, slicer, chart, and moving average forecast looks like.

It will ask you to select the data to create your pivot table, and you get to enter the name of the field that you wish to be your pivot table row variable. If you have already done your outlier analysis, this field can be included in your pivot table. A count of the number of records is placed as the default values field variable in the pivot table.

And, next, you can specify the four field names in your pivot table that you would like to have as slicers: so users can interactively drill down on your forecasting results.

Finally, you will be asked how many periods (eg. months, weeks, years) of data to use in order to forecast your specific number of periods forward using the moving average forecasting technique. Your input will create a pivot chart whose moving average forecasts change as users drill down on your pivot table with the slicers that you create.

The great thing about this template is that it will build a report based on the data that you give it. And you can save the output as an Excel workbook that may be embedded into any website or blog like a YouTube video is.
